Akismet Instability Issues Lately
I have been having some serious trouble with my Akismet plug-ins lately, where the service seems unreachable. This happened ever since the last few upgrades to the Akismet plug-in, there were two in the span of several days.  This is a little bit annoying as many spam comments are now being held for moderation, and when Akismet comes back online, it doesn’t “mark” the already queued comments as spam, which requires manual intervention to weed through my good comments and bad comments.
Hopefully the Akismet team can take care of these issues soon.

I've had the same problem with Akismet lately, but I've just updated to the latest version of the plugin, and touch wood, it seems to be behaving itself at the moment.
