How did I not join the Twitter community months ago is my question. I work in the web site security business, Internet is my in and out of life, I study, read and am constantly on the net. But I knew about twitter, just never bothered to check it out. This is an unbelievable social network, and I am surprised Twitter doesn’t replace Instant Messaging at some point.
Seriously, I joined Twitter and finally started playing with it. Beside giving the occasional update, and browsing for users. I decided to watch the “Election2008″. Instantly I saw tweets flashing back and forth with peoples commentary about the candidates. I was able to join in instantly, it is like having a whole IM Chat conversation with a thousand people at the same time. Incredible really.
Now I wonder if you can filter and see “Everyone’s” comments for specific topics? I know there is an Everyone button that shows you everyone’s twitter worldwide, but if you can restrict to a few keywords and only watch tweets come in with those keywords that would be great.
Here is a snapshot of a the Election2008 Twitter Discussion
I shall definitely be experimenting more with twitter over the next several weeks.
