I did a post previously about how you can create your own custom ringtone with Audacity and it works very well, however I found a website called MakeOwnRingTone.com that allows you to manipulate audio files and turn them into ringtones very easily as well.  The best part about it, is it is completely free, I have created 4 ringtones from the site and have put together a training demonstration on how to do it.

Watch How To Create A Custom Ringtone Here:

Manual Instructions:

Go to http://makeownringtone.com
Click on upload button
Select your mp3 file
Select the starting point in your audio track
Input how many seconds duration you want ringtone to be, typically use at least 20 seconds and up to 45 seconds for a ringtone
You can add a “fade” which will fade in and out the ringtone for more a more user friendly play (especially if you chose a mid chorus selection)
Input how many seconds to fade in and out,  2 or 3 seconds should be fine for fade in and out
Click Make Ringtone
Save the file
Email it to your cell phone
Download and save it to your ringtones folder

Thats it!

Let me know how you liked the video and/or the instructions.
PS, you can record your own voice and create your own vocal ringtones, you are not limited to music files or songs.
