Every month I share with my readers and fellow bloggers my earning reports for my blogging related endeavors.  I do this to show people that blogging is not a get rich quick program and the earnings won’t be enough to let you quit your day job for quite a while unless you are very lucky or far better than I am at this enterprise.  Note, I don’t consider myself a great entrepreneur or blogger, I just blog as a hobby and enjoy that it is a hobby that can earn some money, whereas most hobbies cost you money.

I put an average of 20 hours per week into blogging, so that is 80 hours per month and I average about $250 per month from blogging.  January 2010 was a good month for me and this is mostly due to SocialSpark which consistently is one of my best sources of blogging income month after month.  This was also the month that my personal blog was banned from PayU2Blog so I was able to get it registered and start earning some money with SocialSpark.

I also had some direct advertisers work with me this month who sponsored some direct posts and/or links which was very nice to cut out the middle man.

Jan2010Earnings Blog Earnings for January 2010

So January 2010 was a pretty good earning month for me and the highest I had earned from my blogs since September 2009 in a single month.  I am still striving for my end goal of reaching $1000 per month in blogging income though I am still only 25-30% of reaching this goal consistantly, this month was a 40% to reach the goal.

My blogging income went toward purchasing a new LCD TV for my game room after the 27″ CRT broke, so most of the earnings this month went toward a new 32″ Sony Bravia from Walmart.  The rest is going toward my Valentines day getaway with my wife, where we are spending 2 days in Vegas alone to celebrate V-Day.
