So, I have barely had my blog for three weeks and already I found another blog that copied one of my posts verbatim, but stripped out all links and mention of my site entirely. This plagiarism was unexpected to me, which shows you how new and ignorant I am to the ways of blogging still. I consulted my blogger mentor Damien Riley who pointed me to this website by Lorelle “What do you do when someone steals your content” which is an excellent web resource on how to go about trying to contact the thief and some tips you can use to help make your content copyrighted and protected.
This is a must read website in my opinion for all bloggers, and I wish I had found out about this site and been more informed prior to noticing I was violated.
Thank you Damien.

Thanks Damien, and so glad I was able to help you out. As I say in the article, it’s not a matter of “if” but “when” copyright theft comes your way.
And thanks for blogging about it. It’s really important that we promote the fact that we CAN do something about this and we can fight back.
Keep blogging and don’t let this discourage you!

Thanks for your positive feedback, was a great article. I am not discouraged, I was completely caught unaware out how rampant. I mean a new blog less than 30 days old already plagiarized, imagine some of the bigger blogs out there with hundreds of posts.
Probably is very hard to find too in most cases.

I stumbled across this post from your similar posts thingamabob, and all I have to say is… wtf. But just think, you must be (and clearly are) a really good writer for someone to go, “Hey, I fail epically, I’m going to rip that guy’s work off!”

Thanks for your feedback Dani, If you want to see which site is stealing my post, then email me at contactme@dragonblogger.com. I don’t want to post it because I don’t want to send people to his site
