Blogger Tip – Be Original With Sponsored Content
As bloggers we like to share our opinions and views with the world and the fact is most of us would do it freely, but we all need to make some money for your time. Whether it is to cover our hosting fee’s, help support our families or simply make a little side money, most of us are looking to make some earnings to justify the massive amount of time we spend developing and promoting our blogs.
Many bloggers take part in the same opportunities from the various blog advertising companies, whether it be SocialSpark, PayPerPost, PayU2Blog, SponsoredReviews, heck even many people take the same article types on Associated Content and spurn out articles that match the content requested.
One thing I have notice is the more unique sponsored posts I have done have garnered me some attention from the advertisers themselves, not just the company promoting the opportunity. I have had companies who purchased a SocialSpark campaign and who contacted me after reading my blog post to tell me that they enjoyed my article and some messaged me through socialspark saying to keep them in mind for future opps.
When taking opportunities I often try to included logo’s, images, screenshots and information above and beyond the minimum requirements for the opp itself. I also do something very unique with my poetry blog by crafting a unique poem to each sponsored post targeted toward the sponsor or product to help keep it fresh and original.
Remember your paid posts are your public interface for the companies you represent, if you do them at bare minimum the companies will not think twice and your blog will get lost in the obscurity of the thousands of blogs that came before you and after you, but if you write something that stands out and is of high quality you will stand out to the advertiser who you represent.
This is why I tell all bloggers and readers who ask me how to make money with their blogs the following:
Make sure what you advertise is a product you can comfortably promote and stand behind, if you are not comfortable promoting the product, then don’t take the opp.
