Blogs Breed Like Rabbits

I realize that I have become entrenched much deeper into blogging than I ever thought I would when I started one year ago, I started with an idea of creating a technology blog and trying to make a little income on the side from it. From there I grew to turning my poetry book into a blog, then my personal blog to focus on being a father and living in Arizona. The fires of blogging turned into a blaze from there as I worked for several of my wife’s blogs including a Music Production Company Blog, A recipe blog and a new classifieds service (blog theme) coming soon.

I tried experimenting with affiliates and a product review blog (triedaproduct.com) and even turned my love of D20 Role Playing (Dungeons and Dragons) into a blog. Then I became a guest blogger on several other blogs including a poetry blog, and another technology review blog as well as my friend Damien Riley’s Postcards blog. Now I am scratching my head as I now login and work on 11 wordpress blogs and 9 of them I have completely created from scratch, and one typepad blog.

Trying to find time to do all of this is becoming nigh impossible as I still work a full time 45 hour per week job, and my blogging is just a side hobby. Fortunately, only my primary three blogs get daily updates, the others I try to do one post per week, and in some cases only one every few weeks. At reaching about a year of blogging, I am still trying to experiment and learn as I go along, each blog is a new entrepreneurial adventure, and that being said, blogs are a great way to experiment with various enterprises for very little up front capital.

Yea, following up on Klaus's point, it really shows some dedication to work a 45 hour week and then work on your blogs. I find it hard to update just one blog after my full time job. The tricky thing is getting the balance right between blogging and family life - the family have to come first.

True, which is why I queued some posts and am going on a Disney cruise with my family starting Wednesday night and wont be back until September 1st

Wow, 11 blogs... how do you manage to find time? I can hardly keep up with just one blog, too many things to write about, so many things I have to "put away for now" because they will take too much time to research beforehand.

I must say, if you can do daily updates on a few blogs and weekly on the rest - that's really impressive.

Its hard, I put in about 15-20 hours per week to my blogs just to keep them maintained right now, but because I do make some money from them, it keeps me motivated to keep on growing them.

I know what you mean. I have 3 blogs now but I had 6 at one pint in time. I am thinking about adding a fourth, but we'll see.

It is because many people keep finding other idea's to blog about, and you can't fit them all into one blog. I like the fact that you can easily experiment and flush out a new idea, and scrap it if you don't like it for very minimal investment.
