Bulk Unfollow In Twitter With Mutuality

Posted by: dragonblogger  //  Category: Twitter

The Huitter.com website and Mutuality has been shut down apparently, my latest recommendation if you are looking to bulk unfollow twitter users is to check out my review of JustUnfollow.com.

JustUnfollow is a tool that allows you to quickly and easily unfollow twitter followers at a rate of up to 50 users a day, though they will increase to 100 unfollows per day soon.

Mutality is a very simple Twitter web application, all you need to do is log into the application with your twitter ID and password and it will automatically unfollow everyone who is not following you. This tool has been proven to work even with accounts with more than ten thousand twitter followers, mutuality is more efficient and faster than any other Twitter application for bulk unfollowing users that I have found.

What it doesn’t do is bulk follow people who are following you, I wish it would do that as well, I am still trying to find the best application to accomplish this. I suggest you all give “mutuality” a try and see how it works.

Update: Due to Mutuality2 using OATH access to Twitter, I can no longer successfully iFrame the application in my website, so if you want to test out and use this service, click on the image below.

    Dangerous utility.

It asks for username & password, then starts its bulk unfollow. It doesn’t ask for confirmation, doesn’t let you choose people you want to follow regardless of whether they follow you, like CNN Breaking News, etc.

You should call it Unfollow machete.

99% of all twitter applications ask for your twitter ID/Password, is the only way to make API calls to twitter. I have used the tool six times already and it has unfollowed about 2000 people for me over the six times I have used it.

Thanks to share this cool tool for twitter. Mass unfollow is cool idea. I may not use it right away but would rather keep it in my tool arsenal for sometime.

I am adding this blog post to stumbleupon.

Don’t get used to it, cause it only can be used 3 times with a specific profile (even though Huiter swears they don’t save your password) I’m looking for another mutuality tool now.

I just used it…can’t say that I had any problems with “rampant unfollowing”.

Had 200 unmutuals. Got rid of them.

Works great, no problems ever… have used it about 10 times now and haven’t seen a limitation.

By unfollowing people, this application has allowed me to gain more followers. Awesome!

You can use the exclude list to not unfollow the people who are obviously not going to follow you in the first place. (i.e. CNN Breaking News)

Thanks for sharing this great tip! Tried it and it’s really useful, saves me alot of time from searching manually for people who don’t follow back.

Yeah it works pretty well, I used to be able to IFrame it and just use it from the post, but can’t iFrame the OATH authentication.

Is it working? I’ve tried it several times and it doesn’t work at all, it won’t connect to twitter.

This is exactly why you want to make sure you are careful with who you choose to follow. It can be a pain in the butt to unfollow annoying people or spammers manually. This seems like a useful tool though if you do find yourself if that situation.

Easy and helpful service, thanks Justin. I think there is good reason for the daily limit. As I look at all these embeciles I have been following and here I thought they were following me back. 89 left to dump. Of course, celebrities and people I truly learn from don’t have to follow me back.

Yeah, I usually follow back most who follow me, but sometimes I forget. I should be more on top of that myself.

I’ve been checking out some high profile figures who use Twitter and some have like 300k followers and only follow like 100. ie; http://twitter.com/ebertchicago That’s an important message. They read only who they want and more people follow them. Plus, if someone follows them they can look at the small number they follow to get good connections.

Hey thanks for your great array of Twitter info!

Advertisers value twitter accounts with high number of followers who aren’t following very many back, this shows important people rather than just mutual followers too. There are many metrics which rank your twitter accounts with a ratio of followers to followees
