Take Control Of Your Twitter Followers With FlashTweet
The creators of Flashtweet contacted me to let me know they had a similar service to Twitter Karma and I am always looking for new Twitter tools to test and try out. I logged into Flashtweet and noticed the interface is much simpler and faster than Twitter Karma, at your fingertips you can see all of the mutual followers, or non-mutual follower affiliations.

You can very easily find everyone who is following you and selectively or mass follow everyone who is following you, this is done at the touch of a button and then the application will send as many updates as it can to the twitter network to update your follow/unfollow list. (If you go to the about page it explains that you can’t do more than 100 follows/unfollows per hour).
One thing I noticed is the application appears to max out the API calls upon a mass update, on logging and and back into the application I was unable to see any mutual followers, or any updates for quite a while. The application should tell you that it is maxed out on API calls so you don’t wonder why it keeps failing.
I signed out of the application and back into it, thinking I may be able to see my follower list again and triggered an array error in the application code:

In Summary the application is still new and it has a clean interface and is a great idea. There needs to be some enhancements in place for when API calls are exceeded and provide more information messages to the end user. As far as whether my mass follow’s worked, I can’t tell just yet, since I logged into Twitter and forgot to take a count of my followers and following prior to running the mass update. Remember the application cannot perform more than 100 follows in an hour, due to the API limit.
So when you select all, and you have more than 100 I don’t know if it queues the rest and blasts the remaining every hour until it finally catches up with your request, or if you have to log back into the application after an hour and resubmit to do the next 100 follows/unfollows.
This is the same limitation as Twitter Karma however, there are no external twitter applications that can perform more than 100 API calls in an hour which is the twitter network limit. Only by logging into the Twitter website itself can you make more calls or updates than that number.
