The Death Of My Favorite Restaurant Hamburger

Those who have been with me from early on have read my Hamburger Review Post, I do love trying different Restaurant Hamburgers and have a favorite for over 2 years.

My outstanding winner was the Chili’s Chipotle Blue Cheese Bacon Burger, so yesterday I went to the local Chilis Restaurant in Casa Grande, Arizona and low and behold they have a new published menu for October 2008.Â They have discontinued this specific hamburger, when I inquired with the Restaurant Manager he said they discontinued the Chipotle sauce, but that the restaurant still had some left and could make me one last Chipotle Blue Cheese Bacon Burger.

So yesterday I ate and mourned what would be the last time I sank my fangs into this lovely juicy, tangy and spicy burger.Â I savored every morsel the beef juices rolling over my tongue and the spicy chipotle sauce tantalizing the back of my throat.Â I even ordered extra blue cheese crumbles just to get add some additional flavor.

This officially means my favorite burger that one can still order is now Red Robins Avacado Bacon Burger, and followed by Carls Jr. Six Dollar Burger.

By the way, the new In and Out Burger has opened in Casa Grande last week and I tried it for the first time on Saturday.Â In and Out burger was just “Okay” it did not live up to the hype, it was better than McDonald’s, Wendy’s and the like, but does not compare to Carls JR. Six Dollar Burger, and wasn’t even close to the quality of a Chili’s Burger or Red Robin Burger.Â Â Â I put it at a mid range.

PS.Â My favorite entree at Chili’s now is the Chicken Quesadilla Explosion Salad, the dressing is so delicious and pairs perfectly with the vegetables and grilled chicken.

Just bring in a bottle of the Tobasco Chipotle Sauce and order a Blue Cheese Bacon Burger to splash it on. I've found I actually like the Tabasco Chipotle sauce better than Chilis'

I enjoy their Old Timer's or Bacon Burgers, but I really like the Ribs dry rub style.

I also no long eat at chili's because this burger is gone. Was by farm my favorite restaurant burger :(. For two years I ate a chili's almost once a week, and can't even bring myself to go there anymore.

I miss the burger as well, though you can request the Sweet Chili sauce on the side and kind of create a custom burger that comes close.

My favorite burger is the Plaza Burger at Annie's Parlor in Minneapolis. It is a yummy burger, grilled onions, sour cream on a dark bun - yummy! Even better than Chili's!

The only reason I used to eat at Chili's was for the Chipotle bleu cheese Bacon burger. They actually lost a regular customer because they discontinued it.

Chili's is accommodating, I was able to request a burger with blue cheese crumbles, and their newer sweet chipotle sauce on top, and its similar (sweeter instead of savory) but not bad nonetheless and still bity.

Well, I guess that I'm gonna have to grill my own...

I also noticed the Chipotle Burger had been removed from the menu, but when I asked about it the manager told me that they could still make them with no problem, as the chipotle sauce is used in other things like the Honey Chipotle glaze for the ribs.

For what it's worth I always thought the Chili's Chipotle Sauce was on the wimpy side and bring my own. If they won't make you a Chipotle Blue Cheese Bacon burger, just bring in your own bottle of chipotle sauce and order a Blue Cheese Bacon Burger. Problem solved!

Now that IS sad. I sure hope they haven't discontinued my favorites at Chilis! Seems like every time you find something good anywhere on this planet, they get rid of it.
