I created a FaceBook Fan page for Wanderer Thoughts Poetry and have seen forty four people join and subscribe to my Facebook fanpage since it was created a little over thirty days ago.  The funny thing is since I started the Facebook fanpage I have seen about a 20% reduction in traffic to my site according to Google Analytics and this drop is an average of 20 visits per day, so I wonder if now that people are starting to see and get my poetry updates via the Facebook fan page they can read them on Facebook and have no need to visit the site as often.

facebook fanpage Do FaceBook Fan Pages Hurt your Blog Traffic?

This makes me wonder if such a thing would happen should I create a Facebook Fan Page for DragonBlogger.com and this is the primary reason why I haven’t created a Facebook fan page.  If you are attracting advertisers who want backlinks or notice, it is far better to have the visits to the site itself rather than a giant Facebook fanpage base in my opinion.  What are your thoughts and opinions on a Facebook fanpage for your blog?  Do you see it as a way to drive traffic or just to build your social network?
