Don’t Be A Slave To Your Blog

Posted by: dragonblogger  //  Category: blogging

I wrote an article for Associated Content to help inform bloggers how not to suffer blog burnout and don’t get caught becoming a slave to your blog, too many bloggers have retired or shut down their blogs as a result of spending too many hours and too much time away from family to their blogs.  This is a detailed article about balancing your time and blogging smarter not harder.

If you are a blogger I encourage you to read my article “Don’t Be A Slave To Your Blog” on Associated Content and feel free to let me know what you think of the article, all feedback is appreciated and welcome.

Dropping EC cards does take a lot of time. I only drop 100 for each of my two blogs usually but even that takes me about 2 hours since I also read and comment along the way. I feel uneasy about submitting my own stuff on Delicious and Stumble and do not use Digg because it’s just a hassle. I am afraid if I didn’t use EC I wouldn’t get much traffic at all.

Save yourself some time, use the entrecard marketplace and purchase some stumbles, diggs and fav’s for like 20 – 50 EC, it is so much cheaper and gets you more traffic. You can also earn more traffic by offering services in the marketplace for doing the same. Dropping is going to go away eventually I predict.

I’m still on the edge about EC. I barely drop but maybe 3 or so times a week, to maybe 70 or so people. Part of me is in the habit of keeping it because I’ve met a lot of people in the niche I write for. But I kind’ve want to see where my blog is traffic wise without it. I mean eventually your blog has to stand on its own right? I may start doing more in the marketplace though. I’ve barely used it lately and need to promote the blog(s) more.

Entrecard has proven to be valuable not only in bringing some blog traffic, but I was able to meet other bloggers and use the credits as rewards or marketplace trades. EC is how I came across your blog in fact.
