I was extremely busy in my day job this month and this greatly affected the amount of time I could devote to blogging. This means I had to reject a higher number of offers than I usually do just because I didn’t have the time to invest for the opportunities.
As a result my earnings were among the lowest in six months on DragonBlogger.com and I was able to only net $192 last month. This is less than half as much as the $426 I was able to command in January 2010.

One thing of note is that my AdSense earnings have dropped by 50%, I started noticing the drop early and tried to change up my AdSense a bit to stave off the decline but it didn’t work. I am going to seriously have to look at placement and ad sizes/types on DragonBlogger.com as I used to get around $30 per month from AdSense and now I have fallen to less than $15 last month.
SocialSpark continues to be one of my top paid blogging revenue programs and netted me $50 by a single paid opp. This month I also had several direct advertisers purchase product reviews or backlinks from DragonBlogger.com and it helped buffer my earnings.
What I really want to do is try to increase my earnings from methods that are more automated and require less manual involvement. I love doing blog reviews, but for my weeks where I am swamped it would be nice to still have a decent earnings from my AssociatedContent and/or AdSense to help buffer out the lack of paid reviews and posts.
I will probably restructure my AdSense at some point this week on DragonBlogger.com to help try and improve the earnings from it. Maybe I should install a heatmap and determine where my clicks are centered around and target ads in those locations.
How did my fellow bloggers fare in February? Write a blog post sharing your earnings and earning sources and I will give you a free backlink here so you can show your readers what blogging really pays like.

$200 is still money, but I understand why you might be a bit upset about getting less than half of what you earned in January. Just shows that blogging does require dedicated time and effort.

Props to you for posting your revenue even though it was pretty low, and you didn’t fluff it.
Nice to see your str8 about what your blog makes.
I say dump Adsense.. the amount is crap, and it takes away or competes with your aff ads.

I don’t have any affiliate ads really, I was never successful at Affiliate ad sales honestly. Maybe something I try to be more efficient at in the future, but never have gotten a conversion.

Let us know if you find something that works better than adsense because it can be quite aggravating when it goes up and down instead of remaining stable.

I tried Kontera, Infolink and Chitika none gave me as much as AdSense, so AdSense still my fav so far.

I would give affiliate sales another go! With just one sale you could make twice as much as your Adsense for the whole month.
You just have to keep testing until you find the right product.

That was already big bucks [well, at least for me]. I haven’t tracked my earnings, so I don’t have any to share. Probably I’ll start it today. Or probably next month

I just switched up my ads also and they are doing well right now. You can’t slack off even the least bit, you have to be on top of your game. I am leaning that fast.

Way to go for me to reach 200$ in a single month
I read in the last week on several blogs that changing to affiliate links instead of publishing Adsense ads on prime spots would improve our overall earnings.

Guess it’s worth a try especially as your traffic has grown in the last few months and more of your visitors might now be interested or curious about new ads

The most income in the last 9 months has been from Adgitize from June until now around 120 $ (after deducting 122$ ad costs), i think 35% have been affiliate earnings, everything else the normal Adgitize earnings.
Adsense is around 6-10$/month,
Sponsored Tweets 3 – 8$/month
At the moment i change the topics to the origin of my blog – Financial advice, try to shift my readership (similar to your transition in the past), will see the results end of March/April.

I noticed that you PU2B wasn’t listed this month, Justin. Have you stopped with their services? I managed to be able to earn the bulk of my earnings from them last month. It would be a shame to let go. they are really increasing the number of assignments. Especially for blogs with 0 PR.

PayU2Blog banned me from their system because I did one Sponzai.com post and that was an IZEA service and they forbid any of their bloggers from using an IZEA company product or service. I did earn about $60 – $90 from JustinGermino.com from PayU2Blog but my earnings vanished in December 2009 and January 2010 so I had made the decision to switch my personal blog over to IZEA’s network of services instead.

Oohh.. i see. I didn’t realize that sponzai or pppv4 are also banned by them. I thought it was just the old PPP. Thanks for letting me know.. had i received any offers from any IZEA services, i would have just done it.
I’m sure your location and PR will get you more opportunities from IZEA, which is great. Being located in Asia doesn’t really qualify for IZEA opportunities much. But for 2 blogs at PU2B, I can manage to receive between $120-$160 a mth.
So just have to go with what services work best for your blogs, right? Good luck this month, Justin! Hope your income increases more than the last month.

Absolutely, and I would have stuck with PayU2Blog if it was bringing me opps but it started to fizzle for my PR0 blog. I now need to get my personal blog back up to a PR1 or 2 at least, it is a PR0 and can’t qualify for much.
March 7th, 2010 at 12:18 pm
You are to be commended! I’d love to get my blog into the moneymaking mode, but it seems to be very sporadic. On emonth I earned $4 from Google AdSense, the next month $65. Traffic was the same. I can only imagine something about a particular post jibed with the AdSense ads and visitors clicked on it… By the way, credit Martin (Cornyman) with helping me find your blog!

Thank you, I never had any earnings from AdSense greater than $30, on my biggest earning months ($400 or more) they were from being paid to write reviews or promote products, not from any CPC or affiliate programs. I am weak on monetizing my CPC and Affiliate programs.

I can understand your disappointment, but it could have been worse, PLUS you can always learn, experiment and improve on that figure. Here’s to more money I hope you’ll make online in the coming months.
Take care…

That’s really nice!
Even though you didn’t reach the same as Jan, it’s still something you’ve accomplished – it’s no easy goal.
As for me, I did fairly well – I haven’t yet monetized my blog. I do have a few amazon affiliates and a bit of adsense but I’m busy building traffic at this moment.
I went from roughly 2.5k visitors in Jan up to 3.8k in Feb, March is going to be even better
