Dragon Bloggers Favorite 10 Games

Posted by: dragonblogger  //  Category: Gaming

I was visiting NWI‘s socialspark opportunity about creating a Top 10 list and decided I would create my own top 10 list. I liked the Top 15 cover song list NWI provided on the NWI-TECH blog site.

So Here Is My Top 10 Computer Game List For Dragon Blogger (BTW, they are all awesome, #1 isn’t best or #10, these are just my 10 favorite)

#1 -  Star Control 2
One of the best role playing / adventure type games ever made for the 286 computer (played all the way up until the Pentium Computers) This game had everything, fast paced battles, great story line, fun adventuring, trading and was a precursor to games like Masters of Orion and many other genres.

#2 – Starcraft

One of the best classic RTS games, and I am super excited about Starcraft 2 coming out soon.

#3 – Guildwars

An excellent MMO game with no monthly service fee’s, I played the first 3 installments and had a blast playing for nearly 1.5 years of this game.

#4 – Elite

This is an old Amiga 500 / Commodore 64 game that was a flight combat sim long before Xwing and the like.

#5 – Freespace 2

The best combat space flight sim game ever made, was the most fun and incorporated all the best things about the Xwing series into a new fresh genre.

#6 – Command and Conquer: Red Alert

Red Alert was a classic fun game and I enjoyed playing it for months, it turned into my wife’s favorite RTS game of all time.

#7 – Final Fantasy X

This was my favorite Final Fantasy game for the Playstation 2 and the story and animation were bar none.

#8 – Metroid Prime Corruption

My favorite game on the nintendo Wii so far in the last 2 years, I played this one addictingly for several weeks until I completed it.

#9 – Kingdom Hearts

So original and so great to have Disney and Squaresoft characters meet in a fantasy action RPG for the first time.

#10 – Heroes of Might and Magic IV

I loved the entire HoMM Series, where turn based strategy and building massive amounts of armies were key to winning. The RPG elements of collecting artifacts and leveling up your Heroes was equally fun.

That is my top 10 list, thanks to NWI for the spark opp.

I love Star Control 2. The character dialog and the ship combat was done excellently. Hopefully, Toys for Bob will get a chance to make a new Star Control game someday.

I’m also excited for StarCraft 2. It doesn’t bother me that it split into 3 seperate titles. I was never the best at multiplayer matches but I’ve always loved the single player and its cinematics.

‘Kingdom Hearts’ is a favorite of mine. How totally cool to have a mix of Disney characters incorporated into a computer game.
