Every month I share with my readers my earnings from my blogging endeavors. I do this to help other bloggers realize what a realistic earning potential is from blogging and I don’t claim to be successful, I just know that I earn more than some bloggers and less than others. My blogging comes from doing a constant output of thirty posts per month, including promotion and SEO optimization as best as I can and have learned to do so far. I have only been blogging since August 2008 so this is now my 17th month Blogging that I am working on.

In December of 2009 I just managed to earn over $300 and for several straight months in a row my highest income earner was the IZEA Service SocialSpark. I did a review of the Top Companies that Pay You To Blog and I encourage all of my readers looking to earn money to read this article and try some of them to see what works for you.
This month was a nice month for direct sponsors and sales, and this was the first month in a while where I was able to earn some money with my Poetry blog, which hadn’t earned me any income the past four months. Meanwhile, I almost earned $30 from AdSense total for the three blogs, and SponsoredTweets alone earned me $12.50 from my twitter account, which isn’t really blogging but I closely relate it.
I would have earned more income if PayU2Blog which is the primary earning service I use for JustinGermino.com would have had some assignments for the month, but I didn’t get a single assignment from the company in the month of December. This cut my usual $50-$60 in blog income from PayU2Blog out of my report earnings, and is the first month in a year that I didn’t receive a single assignment from them. I assume the company had a slow advertising month and it wasn’t specifically my blog.
Sponzai has brought in some income this month by me hosting some guest posts for companies and other bloggers, and I enjoy using the service. It takes very little effort just to cut and paste someones article and publish it and get paid for it.
How did my fellow bloggers do? Did you find December a tough month to find advertisers with the holidays as I have?

You’re right, Justin. It was a pretty slow month in December for PU2B. If it weren’t for “sheriff posts” I would have only earned $10.
Hope 2010 will bring us more “kaching” through blogging!!
Have a great New Year!! Wishing you and ur family a great year ahead!

Interesting to see your earnings on Sponsoredreviews.com just wondering if you have a profile page there and what you would recommend when they give you a suggested price for your blog and the desired price to choose, maybe you could do a review with a bit of advice for fellow blogger

For SponsoredReviews, it lists my suggested price as $50 – $800 dollars, yet I priced my blog at $30 and even then I barely get 1-2 advertiser requests per month. With SponsoredReviews advertisers find and hire me more often than I apply and get accepted for bids.

@dragonblogger thanks, my blog was between $50-$800 and just wasn’t sure what to set, I’ll set it around $30 and see how it goes

That is such a huge range, it shows they have poor judgement of what the range should be.

Not successful? I call that very successful! Well, in comparison to me. Good job. Your SEO optimizations must be working because I found your website through a search engine.

That is a very good monthly income that you had. You are not going down in income so that is another plus. Keep working at it. Greg Ellison

Justin,
I’m glad that you are sharing these earnings. It helps to see someone really earning from these programs. Did you ever follow up with Pay2Blog to see why business was so slow? I wonder if the holidays had an impact.
Great news about the poetry blog too. You deserve it.
Thanks for the updates.

That’s really honest of you dragon blogger. I personally find Google Adsense to have the best payout compared to all other publisher network as well as affiliate networks. Why don’t you give that a try as well.

I haven’t been concentrating on paid posts that much lately, but I must admit, of the few I have done, Social Spark has been the best,

Nice going, a lot of bloggers would love to have that income in a month. I wrote a couple posts on socialspark and 1 on sponsoredreviews, but I agree it was slow. I did pretty well on sponsoredtweets, I am close to being able to cash in.

Thanks, I cashed out my first $50 from SponsoredTweets, took me four months to reach it though. I wish SponsoredReviews and ReviewMe would get me more assignments.

Congrats on your monthly earnings. I’ve noticed that you have a ton of monthly visitors here. You could be making make with your Adsense ads if you positioned them higher up in your posts.
It took me a looooong time before I figured that out.
Also my sponsored tweets price is set to $1 and I have only received 1 request. I have 217 followers, is that too low of an asking price?

Typically it is $1 per thousand followers, I have over 3000 followers and I only charge $2.50 per tweet (remember an advertiser pays double what you charge with IZEA commission)

Hi boss. Great bottom line. Curious to ask if you’ve been banned from PayU2Blog because you work with IZEA? I remember a while back they sent out that stern warning.
Other stuff looks great though, you beat me in DEC. I get so many offers from the companies you list it;s just that they are for my teaching blog which is now a PR 4/10. There is no way I am going to risk losing that PR for a Social Spark or Sponsored post gig. the high PR and niche focus gets me more on Adsense. I can do anything on the other two blogs because they have 0/10 visible PR (not — this is not the same as SERP PR)

I did a Sponzai post on my personal blog, and PayU2Blog banned me from their system last week, ironic that you asked. I won’t be listing PayU2Blog in any of my earnings anymore, as I am not with their network.

It was interesting to see the different companies that pay you to blog. I didn’t realize that you could earn that much money from just a few blog posts. Of course, you spent a lot of time and effort getting to this point, but still $300/month is pretty decent money. It’s not enough to live on but for extra income on the side it’s pretty good. I’m going to have to check out the other post you mentioned where you wrote about all the different companies that pay you to blog. I’d really like to start doing this on one of my blogs.

Funny you should mention PayU2Blog as they banned me as well and I still don’t know why, and I didn’t take any tasks from the other mob.
