I signed into my Google WebMaster tools and saw a free coupon for $100 to apply towards Google Adwords, I had never run an Adwords campaign before so decided to kick it off.

So far I am just under 7 days into the campaign and have had over 109k page impressions and 24 clicks for around $5, for this test campaign I am only targeting keywords related to NBC Heroes articles and shows. I am not even capitalizing on Blogging, Twitter, SEO, Technology. Had I wanted to I could have run 5 simultaneous campaigns and probably increased my traffic by much more, but I am only doing this as a test and only going to run it until I burn up the $100 coupon.
The beauty is I can stop the campaign at any time, so when the coupon comes about to expire, I can terminate the campain and have had $100 of free Google AdSense promotion without having paid a dime. Everyone should log into Google Webmaster tools and see if you all have a $100 Google Adsense coupon, it is worth using and trying it if you have one available to you.
PS. I have never used AdWords before, it is very easy to setup but I am sure I didn’t optimize it as good as I could have had I been more experienced. I just picked the lowest CPC payment options, left many things as auto and picked about 10-15 keywords I wanted to target.
Feel free to share your AdWords stories, how did your first test with the service work, was it successful, costly? I want to hear stories from people who have used the service before.

Hi Justin,
I’m wondering if you could share how you earned a lot from adsense.
By the way, is the contest still on for the best technology blog?
Thanks and good luck.

For the BlogNetAwards, the owner of the company had an emergency in his personal life which pretty much shut down blognetawards contests, it only functions as a listing for now.

Nope, no adwords coupon in my Google Webmaster tools account
Maybe it requires your webmaster tools account to be using the same e-mail address (google account) like your adwords account does? Mine doesn’t.
Good luck with your adwords campaign! I was curious what kind of keywords you would target for a tech blog like this, but it seemed you picked some interesting ones with Heroes and such.
PS: I’m only at episode 8 in season 3 of Heroes, so if you’re going to post any season 4 spoilers, please make sure to ban me from your blog

My wife received one in the mail when she signed up for AdSense too, so the coupons can be found.
