Entrecard Sinking?

Posted by: dragonblogger  //  Category: blogging

I have noticed that fewer and fewer blogs are commanding over 512 EC creds for advertising and some of the blogs that used to cost 768 or more EC to advertise on their blog through the Entrecard campaigning are now down to 128ec.  I am seeing a large flux as people rely more on Entrecard Marketplace to spend their EC’s instead of through badge advertising which becomes less useful as people start going away from EC dropping.

Eventually I do predict the dropping system will vanish and you won’t get EC’s for dropping anymore, it will strictly be for advertising your Blog Ad, but this will further reduce the number of clicks you get as fewer people will click as they won’t get a drop.  This dropping system was decayed by advertising not buying you as much time, being that blogs that accept EC paid ads only share 50% of their time with bloggers who advertise with EC campaigning.

I myself have started weaning away from using Entrecard for dropping over the past month and strictly use the Marketplace only, which does need some enhancements as there are starting to be more ads, there needs to be a way of deleting and removing services that no longer exist as well as a search box to filter and search for specific services.

I made a major 300 drop yesterday, due to the drop one get two ECs back, but I very rarely have the time these days, though I do try to drop back on those that drop on me, but lately it does seem that the whole system is about to go belly up! Shame really..

I have learned that the perception of “Entrecard sinking” may simply be a case of one’s self growing out of it and/or elevating above it. We’ll see how it goes for me.

Like is said, Entrecard isn’t going away, but its changing slightly, and the traffic it brings in from purchasing ads are much less than they used to be, now it seems purchasing services in the marketplace is the best way to gain traffic bursts, though drops do still net traffic if you have time to do drops.
