Experimenting with Entrecard
This evening I really finally found time to start playing with my Entrecard account and testing to see how the system works. So far I have had a few drops on my site, and it has added up to some credits, some advertisers have paid me EC’s to advertise on my site.
I have a vague understanding of what this all means and how it all works, other bloggers pay EC’s to advertise for 24 hours on your blog. Their Entrecard (logo) for their site displays on your blog for 24 hours, and then the next advertiser’s displays…etc until they run out, if you have no advertiser’s your default Entrecard displays for your own site.
You then use these EC’s to purchase advertising space on other blogger’s sites. You gain EC’s by dropping on other people’s sites, as well as getting the ability for your fellow blogger to see who dropped them and give them a chance to check out your site and pay you back.
So I wound up having 236 EC’s in my account (not sure how that happened) and I accepted my first 5 advertisers. I then purchased a whole bunch of advert’s on the less expensive sites, site’s cost more EC’s based on how many drops per day they get. (The assumption is the more drops, the more traffic and viewers and hence the greater odds you will get a hit in return).
I have seen some sites cost as little as 2 EC’s for 24 hours, and many for the 8 EC’s for 24 hours. Mine I found out was 16 EC’s for 24 hours this evening, which means I received a few drops today.
One other thing, you can see what kind of queue there is for each blog. There is a waiting period before your ad will post, most of my bought ad’s will post in the next 3-4 days, so I will see if I get any traffic.
The nice thing about Entrecard is they have a great statistics dashboard that shows you if your ad’s are effective and how many clicks are going to your site from your entrecard being posted on other sites. This is a good mechanism to see how effective Entrecard is.
This is my 1st day experimenting with Entrecard, and it looks promising. Fellow bloggers do you all use Entrecard, do you like or dislike it? Do you have any tips on how to use it more effectively? I would appreciate any feedback.
Thanks in advance,

I use Entrecard and love it. I get a lot of traffic from it, and although a lot of it is "drop and run," I've gotten many regular readers from it. I've even made a friend or two. And of course, there's the added bonus of coming across great blogs as I'm doing my drops for the day. It's a win-win. And so easy!
