Experimenting with PayPerPost Version 4.0

Posted by: dragonblogger  //  Category: Consumerism, blogging

I have spent about two hours so far this afternoon and evening tinkering around with PayPerPost v4.0 and I have to say I am very impressed by the layout and direction the company is headed with the new version.  For those of you who don’t know PayPerPost is a website run by IZEA that allows bloggers to get paid by having advertisers sponsor some posts on their blog.

Advertisers can specifically target their products and services to categories and bloggers with a range of criteria such as PageRank, Category and other factors.  Bloggers write a post about the product with a minimum number of words, including one or more links and submit the post to PayPerPost for approval and confirmation.

So far here is the good for PayPerPost v4.0 it looks like many more blogs will qualify immediately:

  • No ITK toolkit

You no longer are required to install the IZEA ITK Toolkit for your blog, this means no tracking scripts or code to install on your blog site.

No Competing For Opps Manually

No more waking up at 4am and having to check the “Qualified Opps” list every 1/2 hour to see if new opps appear and snag them before the other bloggers do.  You are simply assigned opps to your blogs individually based on qualification for the opps.

  • Clear Blog Distinction

Now you can easily see which blogs qualify for which opps, you have the ability to select each blog in a dropdown and see which opps are available for each blog.  No more having to accept the opp before you know which blog qualifies.  Right from the home screen you can see how many available opps there are for each blog:

  • NoFollow Opps

PayPerPost originally did not have any NoFollow posts, but in PayPerPost v4.0 you now can only accept nofollow posts if you want so that you don’t have to let Google PR juice flow out of your blog to other sites.  This will help preserve PageRank for your blog.

  • Accept Only The Opps You Want

Unlike some sites where you have to accept and perform all assignments (or you won’t receive further assignments) you can pick and choose which assignments you want to promote.  This still allows you to only promote products and services you are comfortable endorsing which is a really nice feature.

  • Summary

PayPerPost v4.0 is currently in alpha testing phase and bloggers who already are using SocialSpark or PayPerPost can request an alpha code by visiting IZEA Blog and leaving a comment about wanting to try out the new PayPerPost v4.0 Alpha.

For bloggers looking to make some money with their blog, I have been a huge supporter of IZEA, SocialSpark and PayPerPost for a while and the new PayPerPost looks even more promising and fair instead of the fastest bloggers taking all the opps first.

Some little things I miss, PayPerPost v4.0 seems to focus more on PageRank for blogs now and removes the RealRank altogether, which is a bummer, I was a <300 RealRank for this blog but only a PageRank of 0, so this may mean I won’t qualify for as many opps as I did under the older PayPerPost.

  • Update

IZEA commented that you can add any blog from any blog service and it will be listed in your profile, it will be up to the advertisers to decide whether or not they want to allow your blog to take an opp from them.

This post brought to you by none other than IZEA the creators of SocialSpark and PayPerPost of course.

well i have been using it since last july…..but what i think is they should try concentrate on the blogs alexa rank rather than the pr….

pr should be treated as a plus point….

I personally liked RealRank which is based on traffic, but did require the ITK tool. Alexa Rank requires someone to have Alexa toolbar installed and since 100% of the people don’t use it, it isn’t extremely accurate either.

I’ve just got my alpha key and so far it’s looks and runs better, I really like the fact you can have NoFollow, which is a must against losing Google PR..
