New Facebook spam- Profile Views

It was only a matter of time before hackers, 'sploiters, and evil-doers figured out how to use Facebook to take advantage of the rest of us through Facebook-spread malware.

I have not used any Facebook application yet neither I have approved any application request coming from my friends. Yet again, I use Facebook rarely and I still do not have an idea why such user-unfriendly site is so monstrously popular.

I have been getting these messages a lot lately. Driving me up the wall! I guess it is common interest for people to want to know who checked on their profile, but these are really quite a pain.

thanks for the info, Ankit. it's very easy to be drifting aimlessly and totally waste your precious time doing nothing in Facebook with all those apps.

Thanks Ankit for very useful share. Facebook is full of spam applications and many times we get recommendations from friends to use the applications. Few of them seems so useful but after visiting we come to know that's its just a spam. I am sure this URL gonna help Facebook users.

I am with you on the Facebook spam, they have made it too easy for the app writers to really make some garbage and get it spread around. But the nice thing they have done is make it so that you can't get near as much as Myspace with all the friend requesting that was going on with it.

So facebook is now prone to such hacks? I wonder what FB management is doing to prevent this sort of softwares to gain access to a users account. Anyways, thanks Ankit for sharing this valuable info.

With a rapid growth of Facebook, some people try to use it for their own improper promotion and getting spamming others. Thanks to remind me..

I HATE these applications! They really get you because of course you're curious who is looking at you, or whatever. But I never use them because of the spam. So I guess I'll never know who's looking at me or what I'm missing!

This is unfortunately only the tip if the iceberg. There is a whole industry selling fake profiles and making money with fake profiles, fan pages, likes and pageviews.

I never knew this kind of hazard when allowing apps on Facebook.
I read somewhere that there are apps that enable hackers to hack your account, even get a hold of your personal and important information.
Also, the reason why I don't try them out is because it sure is annoying seeing my other friends posting different kinds of apps (that are actually useless) all throughout their wall and also flooding FB's wall - even though they say they didn't post anything.

yeah, that app is a scam. One of my friends is also write about how this app try to stole its contacts data.

Sometimes I'm really having trouble understanding how ignorant people can be. First of, most of these applications are in english, but I live in Denmark and the majority of my friends are danish. So when they write something in english, I see something that doesn't fit. Unfortunately, many of the people on my friendlist does not, for some reason.

Also, if the application was legit, I would think it would use a decent link. In my opinion, most of the links to these spam pages might as well be shortened by shadyurl.com! :-)

I noticed that some other application are made just to capture the emails or even steal the emails of you an your friends.

I guess I am not surprised that they are doing it this way too.

After considering this article i have to put some restrictions for such type of applications. Thanks
