SEO tips are sprinkled across the internet like winter snowstorms in Alaska, but one of the biggest tips came recently from someone who I met through Associated Content. They use the Google Adwords Keyword Tool to find the least used keywords to put in their content so it indexes better in the Google search engines.
I have done several posts now using this tool, and one such example was my last twitter post on my personal blog. I went to Google Adwords Keyword Tool, then did a search for the word twitter and the popular search keywords resulted in the list below. The green bar indicates how prolific the keyword is on the Google indexing and you want to use keywords that have less competition, so the word with the lowest green bar will give you the highest placement in the index pages is a good rule of thumb.

Using this method I was able to get some blog posts on Rock Along Productions to slot into 2nd place on Google Searches and this will help you build and find what are popular search terms for what you are writing about.
Just a helpful tip I have learned, as I have only been blogging for six months I am picking up more do’s and dont’s all the time and I share them with you here as I learn them.

Thanks for this tip. I always thought the green bar was mainly used by PPC users only. I usually target long tail keywords with Global Monthly Search Volume of broad match at 1500 and above.
