Frustration with the Blackberry Storm

My wife has been using the Blackberry Storm for several months now and nearly every day she is more increasingly frustrated by it. The thing locks up constantly, it is unwieldy and I hate trying to type messages on the touch screen (I prefer the actual keys of my 8830). This frustration has her considering dumping Verizon and moving to either AT&T for the iPhone, but I am telling her to hold out and potentially try the Google Nexus One when it is supported by Verizon.

Now that AT&T and Apple’s contract is expiring, maybe Apple will open up the iPhone to other cell phone providers so that we can have more choices?

I love my iPhone. My husband does, too. He had a Verizon blackberry (can't remember which one). It was stalling a lot, too. My daughter has a blackberry with TMobile and every once in a while she actually has to remove the battery and put it back in to get it going again. I have zero problems with my iPhone.

Your need needs to upgrade the operating Software through Verizon or through Crackberry.

I upgraded my OS and the thing works like a charm!

I feel for your wife. I owned the BB Storm for like a DAY and i wanted to throw it at someone's face. Returned it and got the Nokia E71. SO much better.

The concept of the click screen is actually promising, but poorly executed.

Get a phone with real keys. typing on touchscreen (including the iphone) = Shitty.

That is so funny. I own an 8830 and my wife also has the storm. She has never had a problem with it. We are in Canada so we may have different OS versions. I hate trying to type on it, I misspell everything.

That is a bit weird One would normally think that blackberry phones are stable and quite handy to use :) Maybe a firmware upgrade from your provider might help solve the problem :)
