Header Image or Bold Large Text
I have been doing some reading on Search Engine Optimization and what “Google” likes when listing sites and PR ratings and all of that. Many blogs have a default Title which has an H1 or H2 header size “blog title name” at the top of their blog, and their header picture behind it.
So it would be better to index
Dragon Blogger
Than something like:
Yet other blogs have chosen to incorporate their blog title into the image of their blog header, as I did with my DragonBlogger.com site. I was reading that in most cases your blog rates better by having actual H1 or H2 text as a header than the image, since the header is catalog and indexed, yet images cannot be read. Still, it is so much more visually appealing to not have the default wordpress title written on the top of your blog in my opinion.
Which is more important the cosmetic appearance of your blog header image, or the index/SEO boost you get from leaving wordpress or blogspot to handle your default title to be displayed at the top of your blog?
What are some of my reader and fellow blogger opinions?
