Claire overhears Nathan’s plan while eavesdropping on a phone call between Nathan and Angela, she attempts to warn Matt Parkman only to get capture herself. We learn in this episode Sylar is indeed still alive and searching for his biological father. The best scene of the show is when Nathan’s agents try to set a trap for Sylar only for him to easily subdue and wipe out his assailants like they were nothing more than a nuisance. It is good to see Sylar in his position of power, even if he is somewhat villainous.
Peter seems to have not gained his ability to absorb other people’s powers by proximity, he seems to have to absorb them the same way his father did, he seems to steal their powers by touch. So his power list was quite low at the beginning of the episode, in fact he often keeps saying he isn’t strong enough, referring to the fact that he doesn’t have the powers that he used to contain.  After many of the Heroes were rounded up and being sent on a plane (who knows where) Claire who was released and supposed to be sent back home, escaped and boarded the plane. She freed Peter and Peter quickly absorbed Mohinder’s strength and accidentally absorbed Tracy’s freezing ability. He inadvertently froze a section of the plane which crumbled and depressurized the cabin causing some heroes and most of the guards to be sucked out.
Noah Bennet shocks us again this episode by being a part of the plot against the Heroes, not surprising as he always worked for the company and probably is just doing what he must to keep Claire safe, but as he was a copilot and Claire quickly discovers his involvement there won’t be any explaining his way out of this one. Matt Parkman learns that he is destined to be a visionary, he has the ability to see the future much like his African Visionary guide and Isaac Mendez can. The odd thing is it feels much like an Obi Wan Kenobi trying to convince Luke to find Yoda and use the force.
For sure I like that the Heroes are all going to band together to try and overthrow Nathan, this isn’t an end of the world plot but merely a Chapter about their survival which changes the nature of the show a little bit, and it is a welcome change. Hiro was rounded up which means that nobody knows that he lost his powers yet, hopefully he will have someway to get them restored. Ando meanwhile tracked down Hiro’s location and maybe he will help find a way to rescue them. Daphne was nowhere to be found in the later part of the episode, so we presume she wasn’t caught yet.
I was impressed mostly with Hiro’s charming personality and lack of bitterness, instead of being upset he lost his powers he had a good natured mind to help Ando recognize his potential and train him, this shows just how good of a heart he truly has. I also was most impressed with Sylar who is a Bad Motha “Shut Your Mouth…”, it is always fun to see him toy with his victims and show his true power. I would love to see Sylar skewer Nathan and be done with the agenda at the end of this season.
Next week we see what happens at the aftermath of the plane crash, who survives and where did they crash land…
Heroes has once again kept me engaged and I am very satisfied with the episode, but then again I have been a devout fan since the very first episode of season 1.
