I can’t figure it out, first shaiya the free MMORPG game and now Fallout 3 gives me the same problem. Both games install 100% correctly and without issue, but the moment I try to run either of the games my Windows Vista immediately gives me blue screen of death and my computer reboots instantly. This seems like a video card driver/monitor issue.

I know my Dell FPS2407 Monitor only likes 1920×1200 resolution, and I am stuck using analog instead of DVI cable for connection due to my KVM switch and sharing the monitor between multiple computers. I can’t figure out if it is a driver isse with my video cards, or the fact that maybe you can’t run games with Vista Business Edition, maybe I need Ultimate edition or something.

I didn’t have any problem with Kings Bounty, so I don’t know what it could be. This is maddeningly frustrating and I need these problems like I need used and discarded Halloween costumes.

I am leaving tomorrow and don’t have any time to troubleshoot this for at least a week, meantime I can blog about it and vent my frustrations here.

I had similar problems when I started using Vista. I bagged it entirely and am now a happy XP user again!

this is why i stopped playing games on pcs. too many quirky problems would come up. i like doing games on consoles, especially since they are now becoming a little more than just 1 dimensional machines.

Same. GeForce 7600GS 512MB. Running Windows XP SP3.

I found the issue was the screen resolution, I had to force the game to not start in less than 1920x1280 resolution, if it started in less then it would crash the screen, so I think the incompatibility was with the LCD monitor and the video card.

Same problem here. Radeon 4850.
I suspect it's a driver problem.

Hi, I have exactly the same problem :s. I'm running Windows Vista ultimate x64 so it's not just ur OS. My mates runs exactly the same OS as me and his computer runs Fall out 3 fine. I've not yet found a solution to this yet. When I find one i'll reply to this again.
