I Wish I Could Consolidate My Remote Controls

Though I have no trouble navigating the multitude of remotes, my six year old son is incapable of figuring out how to watch television at all which is completely my fault. He can turn the power button on the television, but if the TV is switched to a different input and the sound is on a different channel he is totally lost.
If I were to have the opportunity to win the Yamaha neoHD, my family will make great use of it believe me. Oh god, and I thought I had remote control problems!!
I’m tired of dragging all my remotes with me over to the bed each night, and back again in the morning – as I have bed in the same room as my TV.
I have TV remote, Apple remote for Mac Mini, air condition remote – and sometimes the cable set-top remote. Would love to just have a single one for all of them.

There are a lot of ways to solve this problem. The trouble is that most solutions cost money. One of the best is an RTI remote. Then maybe a Universal Remote Control. Last maybe a Harmony.
