It is stated in the movie that the Grail's healing power and immortality is only effective if you do not pass the great seal in the Palace where they were. Hence the Grail can't leave the palace or it all comes tumbling down.I agree with your other points on the movie, especially the refrigerator. There is certainly some humor in all of Indiana Jones trilogy that comes from the 1950's Serial Flicks. Ok I have passed the test for Geek of the day with this post.
