Internet Explorer now render’s dragonblogger.com correctly
I am still baffled as to why Internet Explorer 6, 7 and 8 now render my website properly and display the side columns without issue. All I did was the following:
Based on feedback from a reader, I shrunk the header.jpg image from 394 to 254 pixels. I also edited the style.css and moved the menu_header style (which has the pages and the Subscribe to RSS button) up to the pixel 195 from 315.
Somehow tweaking the image and style of the style.css, and updating and now my site renders the columns in IE 8, IE 7 and IE6. Though I noticed the text for the categories doesn’t center properly, this is a minor quip now that it displays at all.
I also tweaked the tabs.php to add the Search button on the top right, this way you can search my site and find any posts that match your search criteria. To find my post about “Paint .NET” just search for Paint, and it will display for example.
My theme didn’t come with a search menu by default, so I had to code it manually, I stole the searchform.php from another theme and inserted into the black abstract 2.0 theme.
Now, my only other tweaking is how do I uncompress the footer.php so I can change some stuff around? The file is a PHP file, but all the data is encrypted, and I don’t know how to uncompress it so I can modify information in the footer.php.
But I am happy overall, my site looks slightly better, my columns show up on all IE Versions, now I just have to work on tweaking my font to a more readable font. I guess I will have to find other blogs that have a nice clean font and take a look at the CSS and see which one I want to use.
Firebug is a great plug-in for FireFox that lets you look at the JS, CSS or any content of any web site, and is cool for finding pieces of code that you want to replicate and use on your own site.

Good, Normally I’m using Mozilla Firefox for internet surfing. I can clearly see your blog without any problem. You did a good job for IE users.
