Military Rescue Robot
When I saw the video for the Vecna BEAR Robot, I just had to post about it on my blog. The Battlefield Extraction-Assist Robot (BEAR) is designed for search and rescueoperations, whether it be from the aftermath of a bomb explosion, an earthquake or in collapsed mines. The BEAR robot is a flexible machine that is designed to navigate rough terrain and can carry a human being over long distances. It can move rubble aside and help to unbury someone, and probably will have a permanent future place in military and rescue organizations.
Check out a video demonstrating what the robot can do currently, and future potential plans and operations that they envision for it in the future:

This is a deal we seldom hear about. The nature of the job that our Spec Ops ring customers have to perform is so complicated that it is often downplayed. You very seldom hear about anything that they do in the line of combat but you need to know that they are probably responsible for an large number of successful operations where they have scored stunning victories that we will never hear about.
The only thing that I can tell you is this operation ocurred in Logar Province in Afghanistan and that two Special Forces ring customers were awarded the silver star, twelve were awarded the bronze star, and there were two ARCOM's awarded with the V for valor.
I like to take opportunities to recognize these troops whenever possible because the average person has no clue of the job that they do. We hear about the operations of our Special Forces ring customers from time to time but we never hear about the level of their committment. They don't seek recognition but they surely deserve it. Good for them.
