Have a Minimum of 2GB of RAM if you want to use Windows Vista
I have been using Windows Vista for almost a month now and have to say it is so terribly show opening and closing applications that I am just stuck waiting and lose probably what adds up to a 1/2 hour of productivity a day from the delays. This is because I only had 1GB of RAM in my system and VISTA when running with major applications open consumes enormous amounts of RAM just to maintain the Operating System.
Snapshot of my resource utilization:
So I have ordered another stick of RAM to add to my system from my favorite Computer Part ordering web site. New Egg, New egg has some of the best prices, return policy and shipping rates out of any company and I have used them almost exclusively the last 3 years.
I already had a 1GB Kingston Memory stick so I found the matching Model number on Sale, and even after shipping was like $32 dollars and such. Hopefully it will arrive by early next week and I can see if I can gain a significant speed boost with the extra 1GB of RAM.
So anyone using Windows Vista or thinking of upgrading to Windows Vista, don’t have less than 2GB of RAM if you seriously don’t want to waste time for applications to load, or be hung when tabbing back and forth between applications.

Vista is a resource hog. It might not be using all of that memory though.Vista claims the memory and then releases it to applications when you run them.
