On Friday it was confirmed that water does indeed exist on the Moon. The LCROSS mission analyzed fumes coming off the surface of the moon after an upper stage rocket impacted the surface discovering water present in the dust. This could mean that future manned missions to the moon will allow for lab like environments to be setup where water, oxygen and hydrogen can be extracted and used to refuel and supply a continuous supply of oxygen. This paves the way for an outpost on the moon in the future I would think.
You can read about the preliminary water results from NASA directly.

Really interesting. I also heard that the water they found wasnt just a small amount, it actually was quite a lot. I wonder if they find some bacterias or something in the water; just imagine if we found an alien virus or something like that? Reminds me of the movie “Species”.. lol

I suspect that frozen microbes, or even living bacteria will be found on the Moon or Mars someday.

Don’t they say, “If there’s water there is life form?”
I feel like I have heard that before, I can’t say I like the idea of shooting things into the moon though.
