The two hour season premiere of NBC Heroes Season 4 begins tonight and I am hoping that this season revitalizes the show which still has enormous potential and still has a loyal following. Before we go into what may be in store for the Heroes this season, let’s recap where we left off in Season 3.

The first half of the season pitted Heroes and Villains against each other as Angela Petrelli, Noah Bennet, Peter, Hiro, Matt and others wound up trying to thwart and stop Arthur Petrelli, Mohinder, and the escapees from Level 5 detention at the company.

Sylar wound up bouncing between both sides on his hunt to find his biological father and killed Arthur after discovering he was manipulated by the Petrelli family.

The second half of the season was Volume 4 and was about the government having a secret operation to hunt down and round up people with abilities. Nathan formed and started the secret operation which predictably was taken over by Danko who after discovering Nathan could fly turned against him.

Sylar proved himself too powerful and clever to be captured or killed and wound up siding with Danko in a win/win scenario where he would acquire powers from the people Danko and he capture.

Meanwhile Hiro was on a quest to recover his powers and was able to by finding Matt Parkman’s baby who has the ability to Activate things.

The season ended with the death of Nathan Petrelli at Sylars hands, and Peter outsmarting Sylar and preventing the death of the President. The real twist is how Angela, Matt and Noah decided to have Sylar’s memories wiped and have him mentally reprogrammed and shape changed to think he is Nathan.

This was to keep Nathan the senator alive to the public so they could clean up the mess from the operation and presumably keep some controllable power in the Senate. You know nothing but bad things will result from this decision.

So what is ahead in Season Four? I don’t go actively fishing for spoilers, so I can only guess. I did hear rumors about a traveling carnival employing people with abilities which has lots of potential. Hiro who was in some sort of coma after using his abilities at the end of last season will hopefully recover and get well. Sylar will learn what happened to him and either embrace the position of power and make other believe he doesn’t know what’s going on, or seek revenge.

I am hoping for interesting story arcs, plots and hopefully seeing some new Heroes with interesting abilities. I will be watching the two hour Heroes premiere tonight and posting my review of it later this evening.
