My kids have all the latest technology gadgets and my oldest son has had his own personal computer since he was 2, but one of the best toys we ever purchased happened to be one of the most simple and inexpensive toys you can get. MEGA Brands Bloks, ironically are very simple in design, they are just giant versions of Lego’s so that little children and toddlers can connect the pieces easier. But the best thing is that you can build some incredibly large creations when you buy lots of them.
So we purchased the Duffle Bag as a Christmas gift for my first son over three years ago, now 3 1/2 years later my youngest two year old and my five year old still play with these blocks every single day. They build spaceships, robots, cities, towers, and they make their other toys fight these Mega Bloks structures and keep themselves entertained.
Who would have thought that a $30 bag of 200 large blocks would now have lasted two children and over three years, you can’t find that kind of value. The best thing about it is that they both build and play with each other, though my two year old breaks all of my five year olds creations which leads to some wicked fighting.
So three and a half years later with the Mega Bloks showing some cracks, some lost, some chewed by the dog, about one hundred and twenty pieces are still intact and played with daily, I consider them the best toy we ever invested in for our kids.
I have a been a big supporter of Mega Brand products for years, as they are one of the few toys that have actually been played with for such a long period of time.

I agree. I have 2-year old son and a friend of mine gave him a high tech toy as a gift, and another friend of mine gave him a toy with very simple feature. My son preferred the simple toy.
We also have lots of megablocks at home and he’ very happy with it.

Sometimes gifts that encourage them to use their imagination are better than ones that only play specifically, its so true.
