Optimize your WordPress Database with WP-Optimize
Posted by: dragonblogger // Category: bloggingWP-Optimize is a fantastic plug-in for WordPress that allows you to cleanup and optimize your WordPress SQL Database without logging into your MySQL Admin. This plug-in will clean up all your post revisions that are sit just wasting space in your database as well as cleaning out spam or unapproved comments.
You can even use WP-Optimize to Optimize the database and compress space to make your blog run faster and more efficiently, but probably one of the best things about WP-Optimize is the ability to completely rename an account to another account. WordPress does not let you rename your Admin account, you have to create a new account and make it an admin and delete your previous accounts.
With WP-Optimize you can just rename your admin account and leave all posts, comments and objects linked to the account intact. Say a user requests an account change, or you want to reassign posts from one account to another. You can simply rename the WordPress account and voila, without having to create a new account and delete a previous account.
WP-Optimize helped clean up nearly three thousand post revisions across all of my blogs.
Easy to install and easy to use, I recommend you give WP-Optimize a try if you are using WordPress 2.7 and above.
