Qualcomm Stadium Now Snapdragon Stadium from Dec. 18th to the 28th
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Snapdragon by Qualcomm for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Who here loves football?! American football is one of the biggest sports in America. It has clearly surpassed the other 3 major sports entities and the NFL continues to grow. It’s no wonder that advertisers jump at the chance to get naming rights to a NFL stadium. Many of them are well known. Stadiums like the great Qualcomm Stadium in Sunny San Diego. You may know the name, but what exactly do they produce? This is the dilemma of having naming rights to a stadium. Once you have that name associated with the stadium, what else is there to do? Well, Qualcomm is looking to buck that trend by temporarily changing the name of Qualcomm Stadium to Snapdragon Stadium.
During the dates of Dec. 18th to Dec. 28th, the Snapdragon name will be affixed to Qualcomm Stadium. In a unique move that required the authorization from the city of San Diego, CA.
Qualcomm will advertise their latest high end mobile processors in the stadium. The Snapdragon processors by Qualcomm are the digital brains inside mobile devices made by Samsung and are used in the Samsung Galaxy II smart phone and the Samsung Galaxy Tab which are 2 of the most sought after mobile devices on the market.
Here’s a quick look at how powerful these chips are:
The Snapdragon processor chips have the ability to decode HD video resolution at 720p or 1080p, a cellular modem, at least 1GHz application processor, and GPS. All on the chip itself. It’s no wonder that Qualcomm wants to create some buzz towards their powerful processors! If you’re not a football fan, you may have missed the unveiling of the Snapdragon name affixed to Qualcomm Stadium.
The stadium name change debuted on Dec. 18th during the Chargers and Ravens football game. But don’t worry! You can still catch the Snapdragon Stadium in full effect during 2 collegiate bowl games.
Make sure to check it out during the Pointsettia Bowl on Dec. 21st and the Holiday Bowl on Dec. 28th. I don’t doubt it one bit if other stadiums follow suit.
Technology is constantly evolving and Qualcomm is making the bold, first move in integrating their products with the naming rights to a stadium. If this proves to be successful, keep an eye out on others to follow Qualcomm’s example. They are truly thinking outside the box and it could very well pay off huge dividends for them.
