Quest to Acquire Windows 7 Home Edition
Hey, I am technically considered media now as a blogger and the way I see it there is no harm in contacting companies asking if they are willing to give a media copy or license version of their product for you to review and promote on your blog. As a result I contacted Microsoft by phone and email and was redirected through several departments before somebody finally took down my information and my blog and said they will research if they can send me a promotional copy of Windows 7 Home Edition.
As a technology blog I explained to them I would be doing several posts about it since its hugely relevant in the Internet/Technology sphere and they would be getting some free promo for sending me the OS and license. I have been wanting to start a Windows 7 Category on my blog when the product was released anyway and was planning to buy Windows 7 Home Edition when it releases at the end of this month, but it can’t hurt to request a free copy first.
After all Microsoft gives away hundreds of licensed copies of their Office and Windows products at trade shows all the time, this giveaway would actually get some free promo for them. I will let my readers know if Microsoft does wind up sending me a free copy of Windows 7, and here’s to hoping I can save the $200 bucks and get a copy for free.
