Ben over at WildTips.com not only left me a comment about my article on how I am experimenting with AdSense but followed up with his own blog post on recommendations that I should follow to improve and optimize my AdSense on my website.  The tips for maximizing AdSense Earnings were very thorough and detailed and Ben states that he makes more than $300 per month AdSense from his blogs and has less traffic to his blogs than I do and is able to achieve these results.

I visited and extensively reviewed WildTips.com and can see how it is heavily Optimized for AdSense, it takes full advantage of 1 Skyscraper ad blog, and 2 350×200 ad blocks inside every post.  In addition there are 3 AdSense Link Units and a Google Search Bar inside the site.   I appreciate the feedback and recommendations given and will look to implement some of them in the near future while I am still testing out others.

I do want to however point out something to readers who are looking to heavily AdSense their blogs, you can overdo the AdSense content to where 6 AdSense blocks on a page can overwhelm your content and distract readers too heavily from the content.  Ben minimizes this by writing very long and detailed articles, but if you are a blogger who writes relatively short articles of 250 – 500 word posts, implementing that many Ads might cause more harm than good to your site.

Secondly, if you intend to do product reviews, promotion and do paid posts for SocialSpark, PayPerPost and others remember to keep in mind that AdSense are not permitted in paid content articles, make sure you have a flexible plug-in to remove the AdSense from those posts.  Also, if you have too much AdSense on your blog you could be distracting and hurting the “advertising” you are doing for that product or service, and this may reflect in advertisers thinking that they compete against too much AdSense to want to purchase a guest spot on your blog.

One good thing to take though is that 350×200 AdSense blocks tend to perform better from my testing and Ben’s own advice than small banners inside posts it would seem.  Does anyone have any other AdSense optimization tips?  One thing Ben didn’t touch on is “keyword” tagging your blog post to optimize the CPC value of your AdSense articles.  You can place 6 AdSense ads on your blog, but you will make very little if your clicks are paying < .50 per click, so you want to make sure you do research on keywords and find the best value keywords to place in your posts related to your blogging topic.  These can help increase the cost per click so even if you get fewer clicks they are worth more and increase your AdSense revenue.

You can use the Google Keywords Analyzer tool to find the best keywords to use for your post.
