Review of Heroes Graphic Novel 111 – Playing With Fire
Posted by: dragonblogger // Category: HeroesThis novel specifically follows the back story of Meredith Gordon and her brother Flint which was revealed in the last episode of Heroes. This issue follows Meredith as she works for The Primatech Company and Flint as he works for Pinehearst. The Novel opens up with a young kid Flint burning ants in an anthole in the past.
Meredith the older sister argues with Flint to do his chores but before she can convince him their father comes to intervene and gets his belt ready to whip flint. Meredith in fear and desperation demands that their father leave Flint alone and she engulfs the house in flames burning it to the ground.
Flint idolizes what his sister just did wishing in fact he had the ability to do that himself. Meredith asks her brother to promise not to tell anyone and we cut to see that they are separated when they are put in foster care which distresses Meredith further. The years pass and Meredith as an adult tries to track down where her brother is and what has become of him.
She finally finds him in jail on a suspected robbery and arson charge. She bails him out of jail and Flint is surprised to see her, Flint shows her that he has been practicing and can make the flame real hot, which is why he can sport blue flames to her cooler red/orange flames. The comic ends with the two of them about to cause some mischief by drinking at a bar with some sailors and Meredith thinking that she wants to find some part of Flint that was like the person she remembered.
This coming shows how much Meredith cares about her brother and contrary to how she treated Claire in the first few seasons she must believe in family and she is working for The Company to help her brother.
I look forward to next weeks Graphic Novel
