Shaiya – One Free Online MMORPG I Won’t Get To Play

I have not played a new game in a while for my PC.Â I still play Guildwars from time to time and was looking for something to pass the time between now and the release of Fallout 3 later this month.Â I saw an online add for Shaiya a free MMORPG and headed over to the website.Â The game looked sound, lots to read, cool story and cool concepts.

I downloaded the 1GB installer file, and ran the installer.Â This took a while to download and when the installer finished I installed the game without a hitch.Â I created an account on Aeriagames and was all set to go and researched my Races and Classes.

That is when my trouble started, I ran the game executable and it downloaded some updates which took another 1/2 hour to download.Â Then when I clicked the Play button, my computer immediately locked up and rebooted.Â I thought this a fluke and repeated the same procedure again, only to have my computer crash and reboot again.Â I don’t know if my video card doesn’t like the resolution or my monitor, I have a Dell 2407 FPS widescreen 24″ LCD Monitor, it only does 1920×1200 resolution, anything less it has trouble with.Â Shaiya can only do 1280×1024 max resolution, so I don’t know if it crashes my OS in trying to switch the resolution to a lower rate.

Either way, 2 hours of debugging and forums and Google searches and I gave up and uninstalled the game.Â It’s a shame, I really would have liked to check it out.Â I love the concept of Free MMORPG’s and there are a ton of them out there.

Yup, thems the breaks when it comes to PC gaming. You get a great game then your heart breaks because it won't run properly. Sometimes I just play Facebook games because I can't be bothered to download and install something I am not even sure I can play.

I don't like downloadgames much either. Browsergames are way better in my opinion. No need to install, download and whatever. Plus, most of them are free. But I have to agree, Shaiya is really nice.

Dragon Wars

Browser games are fun to get into and some don't require all your time. One I love is called Dragon Wars Online : http://www.dragonwarsonline.net where you fight other players with dragons, wyverns, hydras you name it. The site is also expecting to get a make over very soon so that's cool and it is free :)

Played shaiya since closed beta tbh its a lagfest and the end game content is not there. With all the promises that aeria games gives they dont live up to anything. The game has so many bugs so if u decide to play in ultimate mode be careful as one of the bugs is the continous rez runes dont always work and you can still lose your char. Prevent item drops fail also as well as many other item mall bought products. Aeria games wont bother about fixing these so said bugs at all. So i would look elsewhere for a more reliable game that doesnt have all the glitches and offers the end game content it promised.

everytime i run shaiya it says error cannot play need directx 9.0c or higher need latests graphics card what do i do need help!!!!

Fantasy Name Generator

I didn't have the same problems with Shaiya and found the game pretty good. The other game from aeria games, twelve sky, a karate mmorpg was not so good. it only took me all of 5 to 10 minutes to stop playing it.

I think the problem is the game can't play in 1920x1200 resolution, and my video card and LCD monitor wig out in less resolution which cause the blue screen of death. Thanks for the FYI on the other Kungfu game, I was wondering about that.

I like playing free MMORPG games too. I liked PlaneShift's concept and characters, but they don't offer much in the way of tutorials on the game and I haven't found the community to be always helpful. I haven't played it since finding Deicide which has a good community. Yes, its spelled with two i's. I would love to try Perfect World, but the computer I'm having to use now isn't up to par.
