Its ironic that just yesterday I purchased an iPod Touch 32GB for my wife and I hadn’t done comparative shopping like I should have. Since I didn’t do some research and shop around for iPod Prices I wound up over paying by about $30 dollars by purchasing it from a local retailer instead.

Shopobot is an online retailer that has a specific section devoted to helping you find older or newer iPods and finding the best prices online for them. You can also click on each item model and get full price history which I thought was an impressive feature of the site:

Here is snapshot of the 32GB iPOD Touch:

At first I thought the site was tilted because every iPOD product listed “Amazon.com” as the lowest price, so I decided to do searches on Google, Froogle, Buy.com and other sites, and in every case Amazon.com had the lowest price listed so the price that is shown on Shopobot appears to be completely accurate. In fact it listed lower prices than the handful of competing searches I did by about two dollars, so this tells me that Shopobot updates its price check more often than some other sites.

If you are looking for an iPOD as a gift I would check the prices on Shopobot daily, you can even use it to find used iPOD prices and older generation models if you are trying to save more money.
