Speed Up FireFox 3.0 With FasterFox
I have been looking to improve FireFox 3.0.x speed for quite some time as it just can’t compete with Google Chrome and I was getting timeout messages from various sites when using multiple tabs. I downloaded and installed the still experimental Fasterfox 3.0.4 plug-in from Mozilla.org and it works fantastic.
You need to register and login before you can download the plug-in as it is still declared as “Experimental” but it is fully functional and I have been using it for about 8 hours with no known issues. All of my sites load much faster now, especially when working in my wordpress admin for my 4 blogs, and I can open more tabs and they all load faster than prior to installing the plug-in.
I highly recommend for getting the best performance possible from Firefox 3.x you should install Fasterfox 3.0.4, it will automatically configure for maximum performance just by installing the plug-in and restarting Firefox. As this is an experimental plug-in you can’t find it just by searching through FireFox browse plug-ins, you must log into the site and register to download it.
