Cryo-Cell is a company that specifically focuses on collecting and storing stem cells for future use in treatment of diseases, I think this is a topic worth talking about and this is worth promoting.
Cryo-Cell recently announced a partnership with the National Institutes of Health to research treatment of breast cancer using stem cells collected from woman. The are working to track these stem cells as they are injected into the treatment sites to see how they work, using MRI which is non-invasive. This will be a brand new technique and technology used for tracking stem cells over a long period of time in the body.
Stem cell research is partly slowed in the United States due to the fear of harming fetuses and cloning and the ethics and morality behind it all. Yet, it is becoming more of a scientific fact that every month advances in stem cell research are bringing us closer to Treating Diseases.
Cryo-Cell has the ability to harvest stem cells from baby cord blood, and Women’s own menstrual cycle blood which has traces of stem cells in them. Think about it, the unfertilized egg that is shed has traces of stem cells. These can be collected and harvested and bypass any ethics or moral issue associated with stem cell research.
Stem cells will be used to treat cancer, organ defects, injuries, and just about anything else. Imagine this, you lose your ear in an injury, your own cells can be grown into a new one for transplant. Your pancreas starts to fail and you become diabetic, your stem cells can be grown into a new one with no rejection risk. The same applies to virtually any organ, you need a new heart valve, new muscle tissue, stem cells can be coaxed to grow into virtual any other cell type in the body.
Treating and curing diseases will become a normal reality in the not too distant future and Cryo-Cell is doing their part to find and put stem cell research to good use. Breast Cancer is one of their top focuses and it should be, this is a very prominent disease among women and if a woman’s own harvested stem cells can impede or cure the disease altogether then this would have impact and life saving benefits beyond measure.
As someone who is very much reading about Science, Technology, Biology and Medical Techniques I am eager to see what new research and treatments come from Stem Cell science over the next few years. I encourage anyone who has the ability to collect and store their stem cells to take Cryo-Cell seriously, bank stem cells. Even if it isn’t very much, stem cells can be cloned and still used for benefit so it is worth banking as much as you can afford.
I do wish I had banked my baby’s cord cells, but never did get the chance to make a decision and coordinate it in time, Men don’t have the advantage of having stem cells for their own DNA so readily available. Woman should leverage the fact that they produce stem cells which are easily collected and stored to build up a storage supply so that you can treat yourself for any potential future illnesses.

Storing your stem cells with cryogenics is an excellent idea, and I wish I had heard about it sooner. What we are doing is helping people get stem cell treatments in countries like Costa Rica, where it is legal, and where a lot of major U.S. medical institutions have set up hospitals.
