1 Comment »I wanted to be able to have 20,000 links on the web as recorded by Link Popularity Check (LPC) by December 31st 2008, and am now at 18,351 links for this blog. This is just 500 links behind my mentor Damien Riley’s Postcards From The Funny Farm blog. Aronil is still shooting way ahead with 22000+ links and her blog is just beautiful, I can see why it is getting so popular.
I decided to add my friend Jenn’s blogs BeforeIAmFamous and DragonFly Poems into the LPC and see how they stack up, BeforeIamFamous almost has 15,000 links, while DragonFly Poems has 3900. My poetry blog Wanderer Thoughts has 7,851 links and my personal blog Justin Germino has just over 3,100.
Someone told me that the blogger who runs Dooce.com makes a ton of money with their blog, so I added them to LPC and behold dooce.com has over 2 million links on the web, just for comparison the famous celebrity blogger Perez Hilton has over 3.3 million links on LPC. So I realize that if my blog can eventually reach the million link level I can start really earning some revenue.
My goal is to grow from 20000 links this year to 100,000 by the end of 2009, if I can gain 20,000 links in my blogs first 4 months I think I can grow that to 100,000 by the end of 2009.

No Comments »Dragonblogger has contributed to this weeks Exquisite Corpse from Dragonfly Poems. Here is the final poem which is made up of lines submitted by multiple bloggers/poets and combined to create a rather excellent piece.
Little people dressed so sweet
Dance along the city street
Hollering trick or treat
Ghouls, ghosts and vampire alike
Horror strikes this very night
So join these monsters, turn out the light
Whispering Whispering witches gathered ’round the cauldron,
Chanting magical words of wonderous accord,
Shhh, they may see you watching…
Butchered, bleeding
lying on the porch,
a pumpkin.
The veil of mysticism descends on the dark night.
Glowing jack o lanterns and spirits among us
Tonight is for us all
Exquisite Corpse is hosted by Dragonfly Poems.
Thank you Dragonfly Poems and all the other submitters.

No Comments »The latest poem put together on Exquisite Corpse by BeforeIAmFamous was posted yesterday. I participate in this poetry contest whenever I can and it is really is a nice concept. People everywhere submit lines based on each week’s contest and the blog’s administrator puts together some very creative poems based on the input from the various submitters over the week.
This week’s Poem Endzone Glory is about Football (like you couldn’t have guessed that). Â
Here is the full reprinted poem with all the links intact. Â Note: Â Starting next week and from now on, Exquisite Corpse contest will run on DragonFly Poems instead of BeforeIAmFamous.

Solid hits make their bones rattle
As Warriors wage a modern battle
Defensive struggles are the best
As teams confront a brutal test
A solid body slams into him like a speeding car
An impossible throw is caught by a rising star
The ball snaps and flies to the quarterback’s keep,
Pass, catch, run for the yards, TOUCHDOWN, time for a Lambeau Leap!
Exquisite Corpse is hosted by Before I am Famous.
Please note Exquisite Corpse will run on Dragonfly Poems for the next edition.

1 Comment »I didn’t know until today that Dragonfly Poems had submitted my Guest Blog post with 3 poems to the WOOF Contest for September 19th. Well I just found out today from about 6 blogs that my Poems were selected as one of the top 5 picks for the week of September 19th.
How cool is that that one of my Guest Posts about poetry on a friend’s blog actually won a contest. I was happy to submit my poem to Dragonfly Poems, and I will be doing more Guest Blog posts there in the future.
Here is a reprint of WOOF Top Pics
WOOF Contest – Top 5 Picks:
Non-Fiction
Matthew R. Usner – “Natural Selection By Beer Glass†– A rather horrifying anecdote from one of the first jobs I ever had.
Matt Gamble – “Cool World†– A review of the Ralph Bakshi film Cool World, a film that somehow manages to do everything wrong, yet still results in a truly terrible movie.
Fiction
Penelope Anne – “The Divide†- When love is lost, how do you cope?
Poetry
dragon blogger – “Love of a Lifetime, In a Moment, Ancient Song†– There are three love poems from a guest blogger.
