Dragonblogger Breaks 15000 Link Mark On The Web

By: dragonblogger  //  Category: Internet, blogging      //  1 Comment »

In just under three months Dragonblogger.com has finally achieved just over 15,000 links on the web according to the Link Popularity Check tool which I use regularly to track how my blogs are doing.  In fact all four of my blogs are doing fairly well, my poetry blog is actually gaining many backlinks faster than my personal blog.

I posted about using LPC before to track your blog statistics and my goals, I still have a short ways to go to catch one of my favorite sites visually Aronil who has almost 20,000 links.  However, when my friend Damien Riley’s Postcards From The Funny Farm blog has a whopping 21,222 links which is amazing.  Every once in a while I will plug other blog URL’s to LPC and see where they measure and I measure against them.

LPC clearly doesn’t mean you have more PageRank or better Alexa rank, but it shows that your site has more coverage and reach out there and is therefore a good measure on how much reach your site may have.  So far I have seen all of my blogs grow steadily and I want to break 20,000 links by December 31st.  This would be quite an achievement to have my blog reach 20,000 links in less than 5 months.

RSS Submit – Software that helps boost your links

By: dragonblogger  //  Category: blogging      //  2 Comments »

I posted a little while ago about Link Popularity Check, a freeware program that totals all you links found on the web.  This includes RSS links, Yahoo links, MSN links, Altavista Links and Google Links.  This isn’t about finding links back to your site from another site, as much as it is your site showing up in other sites listings and such.

In my original Post “Freeware for Bloggers: Link Popularity Check” My total links found were 921 Total Links.

I download and tested the following software “RSS Submit” by KSOFT to try and get my blog pinged to as many sites as possible.  Okay, I did this yesterday.  This software integrates with Feedburner to read all of your Feedburner RSS posts and blast them out to over 100 RSS Sites online.

At first I didn’t believe this product would work worth a damn right, but I noticed something funny today.  My dragonblogger.com counterize II stats was showing more traffic today than the past week.  I had 100 unique visitors by noon, and 5 online at the same time.  This was way high compared to previous days.
I then ran my Link Popularity Check again and to my AMAZEMENT my total links is up to 3,785.

I went from 921 to 3,785 links online in just 1 day, just from using RSS Submit a single time.  And more than just links, I notice more traffic on my site today, I will let you know my daily numbers tomorrow to see how they compare to the day before.

Here is a POST showing my latest numbers, go ahead and compare these to my previous post.

This RSS Submit software so far is very encouraging, and immediately had noticable results.

Freeware for Bloggers: Link Popularity Check

By: dragonblogger  //  Category: Internet, blogging      //  3 Comments »

I was browsing as usual to figure out how to market and link my site out there on the public internet and I found this nice little freeware program called Link Popularity Check.

This small light weight freeware download will scan Google, Altavista, MSN, Yahoo and the Rest of the web and build the number of links it finds to your site.  It also has a slew of prebuilt in sites including the big ones like Ebay, Amazon.com…etc so you can compare your metrics.

You can also add in additional sites and keep track of all your blogs on a daily basis, just add them all and click “Update All” every once and a while to keep track of them.

It is a really neat feature, it color shades the blogs based on number of links and auto sorts them with lowest links on top to highest links on bottom.  I decided to compare my blog links to some of my friends blogs in my blogroll.  Alas, I am still the lowest out of my pals, but not by much, and since I have only started blogging in the last 45 days I am off to a great start.

Damien Riley’s Blog has more than 10x the number of internet links as my blog with over 7000 links on Yahoo and 113 on Google.  Congrats on the successful promotion Damien.

Out of my several friends, Aronil had the most links with just over 18,000.

Everyone should download this program and see their blog link totals, and compare against blogs you admire.  This will help you set goals for your blog, remember to set reasonable goals and reasonable time frames.

Here is snapshot from the program (click on image and you can see larger pic where you can read the sites):
