I had thought I checked everything prior to my Windows 7 upgrade and would not run into any issues. Alas I found a problem with my Canon MF3110 multifunction laser printer does not support 64Bit drivers and will not work with my Windows 7 64bit Home Premium. This would have been a problem even if I were using Vista 64bit as this isn’t the Windows itself, there just aren’t any 64bit drivers for the Canon MF3110.

My Canon Digital Rebel XT and my iPod had no issues, nor did my Podcastudio Microphone. Let this be a lesson to those considering upgrading to the 64bit version of Windows. Check with your product websites and make sure all your external devices have drivers that support 64bit. The older the device, the less likely it will have 64bit drivers.

I ran Windows Upgrade Adviser but this focuses on your internal system components, it does not check your external USB connected devices to check for compatibility.
