Rock Along Productions – Burning Up the Night was a Success
By: dragonblogger // Category: Entertainment // 1 Comment »As a first show put together Rock Along Productions was a success, the four bands showed up and played and people did come through the door. Â While we did lose money on our first show, the owner ponied out $500 to put to show together (pay sound engineer, bands, advertising) the show brought in $405 dollars in door. Â So for our first show the loss was very small only $95 dollars, which isn’t bad for only starting this new company and business 2 months ago.
We would have broken even or been in the positive if the bands don’t request and require VIP lists of like 5-9 people who they want to get in “Cover Free”. Â The venue itself also didn’t want regular patrons to pay cover if they weren’t there for the show, so there were only 49 paid people but about 70+ were at the event.
Some power limitation problems interferred with some of the bands due to the choice of location to play at the bar, but overall everyone left the night in good spirits and with high hopes and knowledge that Rock Along Productions will be a success in this industry. Â The bar brought in really good bar sales and invited us back to a private party and to discuss holding another show in the near future which is always a good sign.
The owner of Rock Along Productions is extremely passionate about the local music industry, and has her heart set on putting the bands together and bringing in an audience to spread their music. Â She is among the most honest, hard working, strong and up front person you will ever meet in the entertainment industry. Â The bands contract required them to bring in a certain # of people through the door in order to be paid, and none of the bands brought in enough people. Â But Rock Along Productions compensated each of the bands for their time because we want to make sure the bands didn’t get nothing for coming out.
To all musicians out there struggling to make some money while playing your own new music, don’t give up and keep pushing your message out there. Â Talent doesn’t always bring success, a good marketing strategy, band manager and production company can get you more fans and get your music out there where sometimes talent and skill alone is not enough.
Stay tuned, I am redesigning http://www.rockalongproductions.com and will turn it into a full company/blog site by end of tomorrow night. Â This will be the primary entry point for Rock Along Productions on keeping up with whats happening with the company, the bands and the local Arizona music scene.
