Rock Along Productions – Burning Up the Night was a Success

By: dragonblogger  //  Category: Entertainment      //  1 Comment »

As a first show put together Rock Along Productions was a success, the four bands showed up and played and people did come through the door.  While we did lose money on our first show, the owner ponied out $500 to put to show together (pay sound engineer, bands, advertising) the show brought in $405 dollars in door.  So for our first show the loss was very small only $95 dollars, which isn’t bad for only starting this new company and business 2 months ago.

We would have broken even or been in the positive if the bands don’t request and require VIP lists of like 5-9 people who they want to get in “Cover Free”.  The venue itself also didn’t want regular patrons to pay cover if they weren’t there for the show, so there were only 49 paid people but about 70+ were at the event.

Some power limitation problems interferred with some of the bands due to the choice of location to play at the bar, but overall everyone left the night in good spirits and with high hopes and knowledge that Rock Along Productions will be a success in this industry.  The bar brought in really good bar sales and invited us back to a private party and to discuss holding another show in the near future which is always a good sign.

The owner of Rock Along Productions is extremely passionate about the local music industry, and has her heart set on putting the bands together and bringing in an audience to spread their music.  She is among the most honest, hard working, strong and up front person you will ever meet in the entertainment industry.  The bands contract required them to bring in a certain # of people through the door in order to be paid, and none of the bands brought in enough people.  But Rock Along Productions compensated each of the bands for their time because we want to make sure the bands didn’t get nothing for coming out.

To all musicians out there struggling to make some money while playing your own new music, don’t give up and keep pushing your message out there.  Talent doesn’t always bring success, a good marketing strategy, band manager and production company can get you more fans and get your music out there where sometimes talent and skill alone is not enough.

Stay tuned, I am redesigning http://www.rockalongproductions.com and will turn it into a full company/blog site by end of tomorrow night.  This will be the primary entry point for Rock Along Productions on keeping up with whats happening with the company, the bands and the local Arizona music scene.

Tonight at The Waters Edge Bar in Chandler Arizona, Rock Along Productions has put together their first of many shows.  This event called “Burning up the Night” features four of some of the best Local Arizona Rock bands.  Razer, Bomber, Big Mouth Mason, and Eight Day.   Phoenix Metro fans can show up and pay cover at the door, at only $10 per head, it is like paying $2.50 per band.  Show starts at 9pm and goes until 1am.

Dragon Blogger himself is the doorman, and I will be greeting people at the door.  I also run the tech side of Rock Along Productions, as well as graphic design.  I did the poster for the show, Myspace Page, and am working on a new website and blog for the company.

Everyone in Arizona show your support for local bands and come out to what is going to be a great show:

Rock Along Productions – Putting Together Local Arizona Rock Music

By: dragonblogger  //  Category: Entertainment      //  2 Comments »

Rock Along Productions is a new start up production company that is vested in providing the best in local rock music entertainment.  They are among the most respectful of all music production companies toward the bands and go above and beyond to help promote the bands music.  Rock Along Productions is a production company who produces and coordinates shows for the love of the music, not just as a business trying to make money.

Their first show “Burning up the Night” is on Friday September 19th at 9pm.  Four local Arizona bands are lined up for this show including the always great “Razer” who just opened for Shinedown at the Marquee Theater in Tempe.  The other bands are Bomber, Eighth Day and Big Mouth Mason.  Nothing is more worthwhile than supporting your local music community, you would be surprised but most people don’t realize these musicians play for the love of the music.  Most bands that play local barely eke out a few hundred bucks for an entire show at a local venue and most band members have day jobs to support their music hobby in the hopes that it becomes popular enough to allow them to live their dream.

There is a lot of good music coming out of the Arizona Rock community, and for those who love Rock Music of any Genre (Metal, Death Metal, Classic Rock, Hair Bands…etc) there is something for everyone on the scene in Tempe, Scottsdale, Phoenix or even Mesa.

So 4 bands and 4 hours of entertainment for $10 per ticket, you can buy the tickets online at Rock Along Productions Web Site, or at the door.  I will actually be there at this concert and you can also meet the Dragon Blogger if you show up.

For those who love music stay tuned, this is one up and coming production company that is going to bring some great entertainment to the greater Phoenix Area.

Here is the official poster for the show, if you need a map to the location, you can find that on the company web site.
