So I am browsing Shop.com this week to find idea’s for Holiday gifts for friends and family.  I like how they break down each category at the top of the screen, and you can just click on Sale and Gifts and see those items that are having sales or make popular gifts this season.  Not sure what to get your teenager, you can click on “Gifts”, then click on “Gifts for Teen Boys” and get an idea on the items that are popular for teens these days.  In Sales you can narrow down to just seeing which Mp3 players, or Electronics are on Sale to save you from having to weed through all of the items you aren’t interested in looking at.

If you are looking to save money you can also specifically look for which online retailers through Shop.com are giving free shipping offers right now.  You can do this through the Free Shipping Spotlight, which may help you decide whether to make your purchase online or in-store this season.  In addition if you just want to browse what coupons or discounts are available you can check the Coupons section of Shop.com and see which merchants have which deals.  Some have 10, 15 or 20% off popular items, others give you a flat dollar amount off a certain amount you spend.  I was searching for a Wii Game for the family this year, and Boom blox was in the running, Shop.com showed 8 stores carrying it ranging from $35.99 to $60.48.  This type of comparison makes shopping great, because you can take these prices and compare to your local stores, and if you can’t find a better price, you can just buy it from Shop.com

Even if you don’t purchase anything from Shop.com it still is a good place to go to browse and get gift idea’s, you can also enter their Contest and Sweepstakes where they will be giving away one new item every week.  You don’t have to make a purchase only create an online account and you get entered into the drawing just by doing so.  I entered the contest to win the iPOD touch screen, I already have an iPOD nano, but if I win the iPOD touch I will sell my Nano and just keep the touch.
