Taking Entrecard Advertising Out For A Spin

Posted by: dragonblogger  //  Category: blogging

Now that Entrecard offers paid advertising for companies and bloggers looking to get their ads on over 10,000 blogs I have decided to purchase a small slice of this advertiser space to see what kind of impact it will have for my blog. I have decided to fund $10 into advertising and select the .02 cents per click cost, which actually buys me 500 clicks to my site. I am curious to see how many actual clicks make it to my site as a result of this advertising test, and see how many days it takes to accumulate 500 clicks through the Entrecard network.

Normally, I get about 100 clicks per day through the normal Entrecard channel, but most of this is due to doing many reciprocal drops, it would be far better and more time efficient to purchase advertising space and get the click backs rather than perform the drops but we shall see. Entrecredits will continue to become more valuable in the blogosphere as you will soon be able to cash in your entrecredits and earn money. I don’t know what the rate will be yet, but there is potential that some of the most active Entrecredit bloggers could make $25 dollars or more per month just cashing in excess Entrecredits.

This would make Entrecard vastly superior to sites such as Adgitize where I have only made about $5 in four months of hosting ads on their network, Entrecard seems to have a better system in place and is looking to be a better network and system than Adgitize which is still small by comparison and doesn’t have the marketplace or value of “points” like Entrecredits have with no ability to trade them, cash them in or do anything other than collect change for them.

I will report to everyone if I think the $10 advertising on Entrecard was worth the money after all of the money is spent, wish me luck, I have noticed about ten other bloggers who immediately purchased AD space as soon as it was available and will be curious to see how well they fare as well.

I did it (not RIGHT away) and it was totally worth it. I’m not even through the $10. I have double/triple/quadrupled my daily hits, have new subscribers, new commenters. Curious what you think. For me it’s already been worth more than any other ad/linking program i’ve used.

I appreciate the way you get a handle on these new things out there. That is such an asset in a blogger these days … everything is in constant flux.

I don’t even know enough about this to track it so I would certainly appreciate your posting the results.

I just approved your ad, your lucky, EC member seem to hand pick people who run on their blog’s, so you’ll see a huge burst in traffic as people review your blog. I wish you luck, please report your ad stats so I can test my idea.

You ended up on my blog too! There seems to a big controversy on this subject. Many have been turned off by the way paid ads run with others thus “stealing” from time by others using Ecard credits.

I see you blog with the intent of making money through ads of your own. I blog as a hobbie ONLY, so this change is something that is both interesting and controversial.

Hello from Speedcat Hollydale, and I will be also wondering if you return comments … the difference from a blog and a web site.

I found you through the Entrecard ad you bought on my blog. I check every one that buys an ad or is an advertiser whether I allow them to approved or denied on my blog. Some blogs I denied due to an appropriate language or content. I wonder how many people just approve those ads without checking out the blogs. This can hurt someone’s blog reputation if they approve a “bad” advertiser.

That is true, but not as much as you think. Anybody who accepts Google Adsense, Adgitize or others has no control over what ads display on their blog (or very limited control) and therefore aren’t always penalized for whats viewed. Language in a blog can be an expression of free speech and isn’t as bad as one would think.
