Top October Searches for Dragon Blogger

I run this blog as my Technology and Entertainment flagship with focuses on Twitter, Internet, Blogging and NBC Heroes as my primary Entertainment portion.

The last month I have seen my traffic skyrocket by nearly 60% on my blog and it is primarily due to the new NBC Heroes Season 4. If you look at my search results for the last 30 days, 6 out of 10 of my top searches were NBC Heroes related.

My highest AdSense clicks were on NBC Heroes related posts, and I do love the traffic, but I only write 1 NBC Heroes post for every 7 technology or internet related posts, but clearly I have tagged my site for NBC Heroes well since I have very strong presence in those keywords. It didn’t hurt that I am running an AdWords campaign targeting all keywords related to Heroes which only netted me 42 clicks but over 77k impressions on other sites so far.

My point here my friends is to use Google Analytics to see what searches are strongest leading to your blog and then capitalize on those searches, build other blog posts around the same topics and expand the keyword usage around what works well already. I grew my blogs traffic by over 50% visitors in 30 days just by leveraging some new keywords and focusing on NBC Heroes, and while I may have lost a few readers who only wanted my Technology or Blogging articles, my traffic and AdSense have shot up accordingly.

Now, in case you do run a blog like mine where you touch a wide variety of categories, you can still leverage feed services like IngBoo to only provide a feed of one specific topic, so if a reader likes your tech articles they can just subscribe to your tech posts, if the only like your Heroes articles they can only subscribe to those. This is why I prominently display IngBoo in my sidebar and in my Heroes posts which have a Heroes only feed subscription.

Really 1K daily hits? I'd pass out in extreme pleasure if that happens to me.

It will take a lot of imagination for me to come up with web search traffic snaring scheme. But being loved by the search engines is so irresistible.

I had a peak 1 day of 1500 visitors, but my average is around 400 unique per day with variations between 250 and 550 common. I get 55% of my traffic from Google searches, most from NBC Heroes related queries.

I am just wondering 1 out of 7 posts has fetched you this much. Imagine if you frequently write post on heroes. You can demand an affiliate share from NBC for some serious promotional stuff done here ;)

Firstly, I used to love Heroes! I've got to get back to watching it.

Secondly, YES! Why do I keep forgetting about that? What a great way to get new readers and force them to look at my silly posts.

I'm going to have to do a expose' on Kim Kardashian.

No doubt, Heroes has been a steady traffic producer for my blog, if I can find 2 or 3 more topics that bring in as much traffic I could clear 1000 unique per day easy.
