Twitoria – Unfollow Stale Followers

Posted by: dragonblogger  //  Category: Twitter

twitoria

Twitoria is a great applicaiton for helping you sift through people that you follow that may not be active on Twitter and therefore you have little reason to follow them.  People who haven’t tweeted in more than 30 days, or have never tweeted at all that you followed as a courtesy reciprocation are good examples.

Twitoria is also a tool that does not require you to enter your username and password, it can query and provide all of this information to you just by entering your username on twitter.

Once you input your name, you will see a list of all the people you follow who are have not been active on Twitter for a while.  You can then follow the links directly to each Twitter user’s profile to unfollow them.

A mass unfollow feature for those with a status of “Never” or > 60 days would be a nice addition to the site I think since most people will probably prefer to unfollow anyone who has never tweeted or hasn’t in 60 days or more. But then again, if you are looking to reduce the clutter of so many tweets, then this service won’t help you because these people aren’t tweeting often enough to add to your tweet clutter. It is used to remove inactive followers to streamline your follower list.

What is the error you get? If it doesn’t show anyone it may mean that everyone you follow is active in the last 30 days and therefore there is nobody considered stale.

I don’t mind keeping inactive people but I hate keeping people who are not following me or people who spam tweets. It’s better to unfollow them who are not following you or do tweetspam.

Good point, inactive people at least don’t clutter your box with messages.

Just tried http://twitoria.com. Doesn’t work well. Showed tons of people who have NEVER tweeted. Checked a few of them – and yes, they have tweeted. Made me distrust program completely.
